WEST BRANCH - Construction is underway on the Tolfree Wellness Park at the West Branch Regional Medical Center. The park will feature an adult fitness area with six pieces of outdoor exercise equipment, a junior fitness area with seven pieces of equipment, and walking paths with three additional pieces of equipment along the route. It will also feature a 2,400-square-foot pavilion that will include bathrooms and a kitchen area. The park’s grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 20. more

Dogs and their owners from all over made their way to Irons Park Saturday, Sept. 6, for the annual Mutt March. The event benefits the Ogemaw County Humane Society, and featured food, games and activities for dogs and their owners, as well as the actual march. The amount of money raised was not immediately available. more
Volunteer firefighters work to put out the fire.
The Lupton Fire Department responded to a fire on Wiltse Road just south of Reilly Road in Lupton Sept. 5. Arriving approximately 15 minutes later, volunteer firefighters quickly contained the fire which started in a collapsed building. The cause of the fire is unknown. more
